Guide to download and place map files
1 - Create a folder wherever you like and name it after the map you are about to download. 2 - Download the map (save) to that folder.
3 - Use Winzip etc to unzip the map into the folder you have created.
4 - Open the folder and save the IWD file to your main folder in you Call of Duty 2 folder. Typically that path is - C:/Program Files/Activision/Call of Duty 2/Main
